Our Llamas

Katawanna (known around the farm as Kati) is one of our first llamas. He is now 12 and our best PR and 4-H llama. He is very easy going and willing to work. He also gets very jealous if you work with other llamas.

Millie Mae along with Kusco provide us with thick soft white fiber for making wonderful yarn. Millie is another 6 year. old.

Truffle came to us extremely underweight, as evidenced by this picture. Now filled out, she provides us with wonderful gray-brown fiber that spins into a very fine yarn. Truffle is now 12 years of age.

Simpatica, or simply Patti, is our other “grand dam.”
At 21 she is our 2nd oldest llama. Patti is very spry and curious, and yet very cautious. She can be hard to catch, but once on a lead is very easy to work with.

Starfire is 9 years old and is our alpha or “top” llama. He will keep everyone else in line. A life long companion of Katawanna, they act like brothers. They cannot get along some of the time, but woe if you separate them.

Chico is a small unregistered gelding with very soft jet black fiber. He is our “little big man” on the farm. He thinks he is big, but the other llamas know better

Levi was a Christmas gift in 2006. He has one blue eye which disqualifies him for breeding, but he has wonderful soft fiber. When blended and spun it is a light fawn color.

Kusco (officially Instramentalist) is another one of our exceptional PR llamas. Well trained by his first 4-H handler, he is a always a hit at the schools and nursing homes. Kusco is 6 years old.

Mocha (aka Carmel Cream) is a registered 7 year old female. She has short red fiber like her grandmother Kiwi. She would make an exceptional guard llama.

Kiwi is one of our oldest llamas. Almost 22 years of age, she is enjoying retirement as one of our “grand dams.” She is a fantastic guard animal and is usually the first to let us know if a stray dog is around.
